SkinGraft SS2013 Presentation

Each season the show I look forward to the most isSkinGraft. The label has quickly become one of the most sought after avant-garde fashion houses. With a celebrity fanbase consisting of Janet Jackson, Adam Lambert, Marilyn Manson, Trent Reznor, and Rihanna (to name a few) and fashion spreads in Italian Vogue it’s only a matter of time before our beloved L.A. based label gets swept off to Paris, London, or New York.

SkinGraft and Madisonpark Collective at Style Fashion Week

The preshow party at Style Fashion Week on day three was not quite as grand as day one. There were no appetizers from El Cholo and no live band to rock the house. However, VnC Cocktails were still hosting the bar, a DJ was spinning some cool tunes, Le Posh Salon treated guests to manicures, and Brunch Butler provided a chocolate fondue station.

Join Skingraft for a Moonlight Swim at Drai’s Hollywood

Summer is in full swing and the weather is perfect for a moonlight dip. The folks at Skingraft have hooked up with Church Boutique, LEDISKO, and La Canvas to bring you a night filled with drinks, swimming, DJs, and lots of leather this Thursday, August 4th, at Drai's Hollywood located on top of the W Hotel. The party starts at 9:30 p.m. and will be raging until 1:30 a.m. Skingraft gift bags will be handed out at midnight. Early arrival suggested. RSVP required: leoskoproductions@gmail.com

BOXeight Fashion: Refocus Fall/Winter 2010

BOXeight's "Fashion: Refocus" Fall/Winter 2010 opening-night event was held on Friday March 19th. The event presented an intimate behind the scenes look at fashion photo shoot. Attendees had the opportunity to view the shoot from start to finish – from watching the make-up artist (Dior) and hairstylists (Unite) in action, to the models being dressed by designers, to the final photo shoot where the photographer instructed the model on bringing his/her vision to life. Each designer had their own specific backdrop complete with props and lighting. The photographers shot the looks for the designers’ fall lookbooks and for a spread in LA Confidential magazine.

LA Fashion Week: SKINGRAFT

This night ended with a stellar presentation by Skingraft. Johnny Cota, Cassidy Haley, and Katie Kay are the creative force behind this edgy underground collection. Having made its debut at Fashion Week in March 2009 Skingraft's clothing blends raw underground fashion with high-end couture. The show kicked of with a performance-art dance piece. Inspired by Amelia Earhart the collection featured aviator caps and leather harnesses. Continuing with the theme, one model came down the catwalk wearing a beautiful grey strapless dress with a full length tiered skirt and a fake bird on her shoulder. I have to say that the attention to detail was amazing, especially on the blue leather vest, the leather jackets, and military inspired coats. Another great piece was a little cocktail dress that sported a black & white leather corset and ruffle tiered skirt. However, nothing was quite as spectacular as the Alexander McQueen inspired grand finale dress. This dramatic Victorian inspired piece was adorned with a spiked leather vest, and the model marched slowly down the runway so we could all bask in its beauty.
