Open Runway Is Back!

The first season of Open Runway was a success so the Los Angeles Fashion Council is doing it again, which is great news for emerging designers based in Los Angeles. Open Runway is a unique way for new designers to showcase their work. Once a month, during the summer, 5 designers will have the opportunity to present their looks on the runway in a live fashion show to be held at the W Hotel, Los Angeles. Three finalists will advance to the finale in September and the winner will showcase during LA Fashion Week in October.  In addition to her L.A. Fashion Week debut, last season’s winner Rose La Grua (That’s Totally Fine) was selected to participate in Tokyo Fashion Week. So don’t wait - click here to apply. LAFC SS14 Collections At The Grove

The Los Angeles Fashion Council held it SS14 Runway Shows at the park located in The Grove. Major props go out to Kelsi Smith and her crew for putting together a very well organized event. The park was a great location, the shows were on schedule, the staff was friendly, parking was validated, shoppers at The Grove were able to view the presentations, and instead of paper wrist bands we were given neon friendship bracelets. Fun!

LAFC – Open Runway Showcase #3

The third round of the Los Angeles Fashion Council’s Open Runway presentation was held at Couture Los Angeles on Saturday, August 31st. Congrats to last month’s winner Rose La Grua. Rose will compete in the final round on September 28^st in hopes of landing a spot at the LAFC’s Spring 2014 Collections showcase.  

LAFC – Open Runway Showcase #2

The Los Angeles Fashion Council held the second round of its Open Runway presentations at Couture Los Angeles on Saturday, July 27^th. Congrats to last month’s winner Serena Abel of SABel. She made it to the final round in September and will be competing for a spot at the LAFC’s Spring 2014 Collections showcase.  This time around the producers of E! Network’s "The Soup" and "Fashion Police" were on site to film the event, so round two competitors received an added bonus.
