Chemline F/W 2011 Launch Party
Do you have plans for Saturday the 24th? If not, head on down to Chinatown and help Chemline celebrate the launch of its Sectilis Ortis collection. These ready to wear pieces, which were featured at Concept Fashion Week this past March, pay homage to Frank Lloyd Wright’s block style homes by mixing ultra feminine detailing with angular lines.

Chemline Boutique’s Spring/Summer Launch Party
My first introduction to Chemline was at Concept Fashion Week this past March. I was very impressed with the retro inspired collection, so when I received the invitation to the SS preview party I was excited. Hosted by the lovely Averi Bell (designer for Chemline) at her darling Chinatown boutique/studio the event gave selected guests the opportunity to preview the SS collections from the emerging designers featured in her store. Averi firmly believes in supporting the community so she’s opened up her shop to her friends and other labels that share her eco-friendly vision.

CONCEPT Fashion Week Fall 2011 - Friday, March 11th
This season CONCEPT Fashion Week served as the opening ceremony for L.A. Fashion Week Fall 2011. Held at the ACE Gallery, in the heart of the Wilshire district, the venue was the perfect place to host the artistic installations. Friday’s installations were presented by Valerj Pobega, martinMARTIN, Liaison, and Mike Vensel.
Mike Vensel and Brady Westwater founded Concept Fashion Week in 2010 as an alternative for designers who wanted to showcase their latest collections under their own terms. The duo have actually been producing fashion shows since 2004 and have recently expanded CONCEPT to New York Fashion Week as well. They also just partnered up with Doug Christmas, owner of ACE Gallery, to bring their vision of a fusion between art, fashion, and culture to life.

Thread Holiday Pop-up Shop - December, 2010
The Thread show is a pretty regular event in San Diego. However, the last time it was in L.A. was 2 years ago, so I was thrilled when I heard it was back. What’s so great about Thread? Well, the Thread show is not just a shopping event – it’s a place where you and your friends can shop, hang out, and have a good time.
This traveling showcase for emerging, independent designers is a great place to find unique, one-of-a kind pieces for every budget. Coconut Water, and Metromint.
