Style Fashion Week has come a long way since its first showcase at Vibiana in Downtown Los Angeles. The FW16 Showcase was held at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood.
The event began with a cocktail reception under the stars where guests socialized with industry insiders and celebrities.
Having made his debut this past October, Mario De La Torre returned to SFW to present his FW16 contemporary collection. The lengthy catwalk was surrounded by a pool of water. Unfortunately, due to the cool evening temperature and moisture in the air, dew collected on the runway making it slippery. Thankfully, there were no casualties.
Mario tends to draw inspiration from femininity, simplicity, and elegance of the 50’s-60’s. The looks presented featured a number of classic, timeless pieces that were functional and stylish.
Designer/stylist Sara Angelucci is the creative force behind Armature. Her FW16 capsule collection was raw, edgy with a hint of rocker chic.
