For the past 7 seasons EM & Co has presented The "Brave New World" Fashion Installation during L.A. Fashion Week. EM & Co owner Eveline Morel is passionate about helping emerging local artists and frequently hosts unique fashion events at her boutique that feature some of L.A.'s best kept secrets.
Em & Co is always one-step ahead of the trends and tonight was no exception with the debut of EM Reconstruct. This mini-collection of up-cycled army gear represented a collaboration between designers Krysta Henry & Jacquetta O'Dell (aka Krys-N-Jack) and Eveline. This edgy collection featured military-inspired looks re-constructed out of recycled army garments. The modified outfits ranged from a playful skirt to a party dress with delicate ruffle accents to reconstructed army jackets to a hammered metal dress. Each garment contained the signature Krys-N-Jack detailing and each piece was individually created. These girls have quickly become one of our favorite designers. They are incredibly talented and extremely creative and just when we think we’ve seen it all they pull something new out of their hat that just blows us out of the water. Their army wear presentation showcased a knack for versatility while retaining their signature style. I can see a whole generation of rockers and cutting edge fashionistas snapping up these one-of-a-kind pieces. Personally, I’d like to rock the hammered metal dress.
Angela Dean also presented a beautiful ready-to-wear line that featured futuristic jersey dresses and vintage-inspired brocade coats that would flatter all shapes and sizes. Angela is a celebrity designer who has made dresses for Halle Berry and Queen Latifah. She knows how to craft a garment in such a way that you can’t help but feel glamorous while wearing it.
The creations are currently on display at Em & Co and are available for purchase, but you better hurry because there is no doubt they'll be flying off the shelves.
