Mila Hermanovski: Fashion Week Los Angeles FW15 Presentation

It was a nice treat to have the opportunity to attend Mila Hermanovski’s runway show during LAFC’s Fashion Week Los Angeles’ showcase at Maker City LA. Mila may not have been crowned champion of Project Runway or Project Runway Allstars but she definitely is a winner in my book. Not only does Mila have a true passion for fashion, she works hard for her art, and is incredibly nice as well. I have nothing but respect for this gal.

For her FW15 collection, titled “Frequency,” Mila kept it comfortable and chic. The minimalist-cool presentation gave off a modernist meets ath-leisure vibe. The looks featured Mila’s signature style, which factors on heavy doses of proportion play, asymmetrical hemlines, cut-out details, and innovative silhouettes.

Stella Proseyn: Fashion Week Los Angeles FW15 Presentation

For Fashion Week LA’s FW15 presentation, Debbie Talanian showcased her Stella Proseyn collection of classic looks, which featured tailored clean cuts and flattering silhouettes in neutral colors and comfortable, textured fabrics. Attainable beauty and everyday luxury was the focus for this season and Debbie demonstrated that by creating relevant pieces that every woman can add as a staple to her wardrobe. The runway show featured a number of items that I’d love to add to my collection. One being the snakeskin crew-neck and pencil skirt combo, which was a crowd favorite.

LAFC FW15 Showcase

LAFC SS15 Emerging Designer Showcase

Kelsi Smith, founder and director of Los Angeles Fashion Council, held this season’s Emerging Designer Showcase at Market City LA. The two-day event focused on up-and-coming L.A. designers in order to provide them with much needed exposure and support.

Open Runway Is Back!

The first season of Open Runway was a success so the Los Angeles Fashion Council is doing it again, which is great news for emerging designers based in Los Angeles. Open Runway is a unique way for new designers to showcase their work. Once a month, during the summer, 5 designers will have the opportunity to present their looks on the runway in a live fashion show to be held at the W Hotel, Los Angeles. Three finalists will advance to the finale in September and the winner will showcase during LA Fashion Week in October.  In addition to her L.A. Fashion Week debut, last season’s winner Rose La Grua (That’s Totally Fine) was selected to participate in Tokyo Fashion Week. So don’t wait - click here to apply. LAFC FW14 Presentation

The Los Angeles Fashion Council and some of its member designers were invited to do a one-day showcase at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tokyo on March 17^th, so in lieu of a runway show Kelsi Smith and her crew hosted a presentation at their showroom located in the heart of Downtown L.A.’s Fashion District.

LAFC SS14 Collections At The Grove

The Los Angeles Fashion Council held it SS14 Runway Shows at the park located in The Grove. Major props go out to Kelsi Smith and her crew for putting together a very well organized event. The park was a great location, the shows were on schedule, the staff was friendly, parking was validated, shoppers at The Grove were able to view the presentations, and instead of paper wrist bands we were given neon friendship bracelets. Fun!

TPOLA SS14 Fashion Week Kickoff Party

Two Point Oh! LA hosted its traditional pre-LAFW party at Stylehaüs located in The Grove. Co-founded by Marina Monroe and Lion Shirdan, Stylehaüs is a members only, upscale clothing boutique and style experience in Los Angeles. It combines a physical showroom with a full service styling team. Members have access to the latest one-of-a-kind fashions from all over the world and can purchase clothing a season ahead.

LAFC – Open Runway Showcase #3

The third round of the Los Angeles Fashion Council’s Open Runway presentation was held at Couture Los Angeles on Saturday, August 31st. Congrats to last month’s winner Rose La Grua. Rose will compete in the final round on September 28^st in hopes of landing a spot at the LAFC’s Spring 2014 Collections showcase.  

Los Angeles Fashion Council Announces Its New Home

The Los Angeles Fashion Council has announced that the new home of its LAFC Collections will be at The Grove, which has been touted as L.A.’s premier retail and lifestyle destination. Runway shows will be held at The Park in The Grove on Oct 9^th and 10^th with additional activities and events happening throughout the property. The two day schedule will feature eight shows from local L.A. designers (including the winner of LAFC’sOpen Runway Competition). The shows will be exclusive to industry and invited guests. LAFC – Open Runway Showcase #2

The Los Angeles Fashion Council held the second round of its Open Runway presentations at Couture Los Angeles on Saturday, July 27^th. Congrats to last month’s winner Serena Abel of SABel. She made it to the final round in September and will be competing for a spot at the LAFC’s Spring 2014 Collections showcase.  This time around the producers of E! Network’s "The Soup" and "Fashion Police" were on site to film the event, so round two competitors received an added bonus.

Los Angeles Fashion Council Fall 2013 Collections

Blogger extraordinaire Kelsi Smith started the Los Angeles Fashion Council with the goal of championing underground and emerging designers. As part of this focus Kelsi and her team hosted two days of runway shows in the heart of Downtown L.A.’s Fashion District. Cinema Make-Up School, Manny Castro, and Factory L.A. also lent their talents and support.

LA Fashion Council's Fashion Week Debut

The Los Angeles Fashion Council made its L.A. Fashion Week debut at the historic Carondelet House. The two day event included runway presentations, onsite showrooms for apparel and accessories, a daily luncheon, and an evening “Digital Influencer” cocktail party held in association with Two Point Oh LA! Featured designers included AGAIN, Korovilas, The Bohemian Society, Jen Awad, ISM Mode, Odylyne, Kittinhawk, Luciana Salamone, and Luxury Jones.
