Gather Boutique Opens in Los Feliz

On Thursday November 3^rd I attended the grand opening of Gather Boutique in Los Feliz. Founded by designer Katie Kay, Gather features locally designed jewelry, accessories, and apparel. The shop carries an eclectic array of merchandise ranging from beaver-tooth necklaces to sliver rings cast from iguana skulls to fancy turbans to 70’s inspired handbags.  In terms of apparel there’s a wide selection spanning from jersey knit maxi dresses to lace-flared pants to apocalyptic leatherwear to funky fringed tees. Featured brands include ISM Mode, Venius Turbans, Ai forAi, Painted Coyote, and S.O.B (to name a few).

USC Fashion Industry Association's 7th Annual Fashion Show: Part 1

USC’s Fashion Industry Association held its 7th Annual student-produced Fashion Show in conjunction with Spirit Day. The event, which was sponsored by Skinny Cow and Pauline Cheng (ReMax), gave aspiring design students the opportunity to showcase their work alongside established designers from across the globe. Models, some of which were also students, wore oxfords and boots courtesy of Penelope and Coco and V.I.P. guests received gift bags with products and discounts from Ezekiel, Rit Dye, C California Style, mark., Paul Mitchell, The Hellers, Roozt.com, Superdry, Fiji water, BCBGeneration, Black Halo, Yoki’s Garden, Stila Cosmetics, and Shave Secret.

Greige Market Pop-Up Shop @ The Spot

We stopped by the Greige Market Pop-Up Shop at The Spot last Friday night to check out the selection on hand. There were a number of great L.A. based designers displaying their wares in addition to complimentary cocktails and cool tunes courtesy of a rockin’ DJ.
