On Saturday night I attended the L.A. Emerging Designer FW16 Showcase. The intimate event included a dual runway so everyone in attendance could get a good view of the apparel and accessories presented.
Mica J Smith started the evening off with the L’inizio Collection. A juxtaposition of hard and soft the featured looks embodied the concept of new beginnings via a fusion of contrasting colors, fabrics, and textiles.
Next up was Ox by Olivia. Models in nude body suits walked down the runway wearing Ox’s beautiful handcrafted jewelry and funky, flashy eyewear from Burkinabe Designs.
The final presentation was by Tale For Esther. Designer Kristine Amarillo’s Midnight Eden Collection was inspired by a dark twist on romance. Comprised of ready-to-wear and evening separates, the elegant looks featured dark colors, romantic prints, intricate lace, and hand embroidered metallic trims all designed for a polished woman who values quality and innovation.
