Concept Los Angeles: SS15 Collections

Concept Los Angeles’ SS15 fashion showcase was held at ACE Museum. The evening kicked off with an installation by Mike Vensel. Not only is Mike a talented designer he is also the brains behind Concept.

The theme of Vensel’s SS15 collection was "Alchemy." Staying true to his timeless-yet- provocative aesthetic, the looks featured a mix of knit and woven pieces in classic, curve-hugging silhouettes with hand-painted bronze accents.

Inspired by desert succulents, geo stones, and water refraction Mathiasen’s SS15 exhibition ranged from sporty streetwear to easy-to-wear in cool blues, sandy creams, and fiery florals. These go-to staples were made from light fabrics such as Ponte de Roma knits and printed chiffons.

Designed by Jenn Burgos, the JBurgos line is comprised of trendy yet classic clothing that flatters the female form. The vivid collection embraced rich tones in blue, green, and naturals. Jenn utilized luxurious silks and textured fabrics to create looks perfect for a night out on the town.

The runway portion of the show featured Emily Daccarett. Emily is a high end contemporary designer whose love of the arts and dance helped ignite her interest in fashion. Her SS15 showcase featured a variety of colorful and whimsical bohemian designs from delicately tailored floral-print rompers, to sheer flowy dresses, and vibrant two-piece sets.

Aeneas Erlking is a young international fashion designer and stylist whose contemporary womenswear line is known for its highly innovative, edgy, and anarchistic designs. Her current collection was inspired by British punk-rock subculture in the late 70's and early 80's. The looks featured incorporated avant-garde cuts and classic punk motifs; thus, striking the perfect balance between masculine and feminine.
