Art Hearts Fashion SS15 Event

The Art Hearts Fashion two day presentations were held at the elegant Taglyan Complex and featured collections from an array of artistically inspired designers. The event supported a great cause—AIDS Healthcare Foundation—and attendees were urged to text in donations by texting “FIGHTAIDS” to 41444.

Before the show started guests grooved to the tunes spun by the fabulous BoOmBoxBri.

They also enjoyed beverages courtesy of Monster Energy, Moreno BHLV Sparkling Wine, and Tatratea. Had fun in the FotoPod Booth and checked out art installations by Sham Ibrahim, Joseph Jasso, and Eugene Huffman.

There was also the opportunity to shop select items from:
Nancy Vuu’s kidswear collection of one-of-a-kind custom couture wear and headpieces.

My Angel City Boutique’s fun and flirty apparel and accessories.

This lovely gal is modeling her recent body chain purchase from the online retailer.

And, Fannie Lash’s luxury line of false lashes. These handmade, cruelty-free lashes are made from a mixture of mink and human hair. They are also hypo-allergenic and can be used up to 25 times!

I had the pleasure of meeting the lovely Vaiva Tuckuviene (Designer/Author/Model Scout/Fashion Show Producer) and her equally fashionable friend. (Vaiva is on the left.)

I also ran into Romeo Williams (American Gladiator)

In fact there were a number of celebrities in attendance. Like Ricky Rebel, who was modeling in Tumbler and Tipsy’s show.

And of course, the king himself – the adorable Michael Kuluva, designer for Tumbler and Tipsy.

The night’s runway shows featured everything from edgy streetwear to couture creations. The collections showcased everything from bright colors to crazy patterns. Lots of low-cuts and a few missing tops. Needless to say, this was an enjoyable show as the models interacted with the audience and just had fun on the catwalk.

The first presentation of the evening was from Viggo. Designer Gina Itor has a penchant for combining art and fashion to create unique pieces that make a statement. The menswear line consisted of button-downs and tailored pants with shirts featuring her original artwork of splatter-prints, foiling, and studs.

Bringing an otherworldly fashion experience to the runway Dan Richters’ creations were inspired by escapism, sensationalism, and fantasy. The highly constructed futuristic designs were created with unconventional material and paired modern luxury with ancient style.

Resort wear brand NOIA brought swimwear to the runway. Designed by Evelyne and influenced by her multicultural background, the looks presented were feminine with a minimalistic aesthetic.

Teen designer Courtney Allegra sent out a chic collection of high-energy inspired swimwear. The models strutted down the runway in abstract foiled designs, animal prints, and neon tie-dye. (Photos courtesy of Ken Alcazar)

Kenneth Chang entertained us twice. Once with his edgy menswear collection – Consort 62, and, then with his bold womenswear line Miss Consort. The Hawaiian themed resort wear looks centered upon bright neon, tropical, and graphic prints.

Crystal Hefner kept the summertime vibe going with her fun and flirty swimsuits and separates.

Kami Shade’s clothing is designed to compliment a women’s body, style, and personality and is especially flattering on curvy girls. Showing that she is all about the bass and no treble she enlisted plus-sized model Candice Kane. Candice was greeted with loud fanfare as she strutted her stuff down the catwalk.

The Kami Shade SS15 collection featured lots of sequins, furs, lace, and foiling accented with cutouts, athletic cuts, and tuxedo stripes.

I was very excited to see what the iconic pop brand Tumbler and Tipsy had in store for us. Anchored by the creative mind and brilliant talents of professional figure skater and fashion designer Michael Kuluva, this sexy and stylish brand puts the fun back in fashion, which was quite evident based on the crowd’s reaction.  (photo courtesy of Ken Alcazar)
