On February 20th, 24 Hour Service Station and MVD Audio will release Ceremony a tribute to New Order. The Deluxe Double Disc Album of 32 tracks will feature bands representative of musical genres from Electronica to Indie Rock that have been influenced by the band. Participants include New Order/Joy Division bassist Peter Hook, Detachments, Rabbit in the Moon, John Ralston, Sunbears!, The Cloud Room, GD Luxxe, The Dark Romantics, Pocket, Light Yourself On Fire, XOXO and Kites with Lights. This album is dedicated to Tony Wilson, founder of Factory Records, who died of cancer in 2007, and will be released on February 20th 2010 to celebrate what would have been his 60th Birthday. A portion of the proceeds from album sales will benefit the Salford Foundation Trust's Tony Wilson Awards, established in his memory. The trust benefits children and young people who can demonstrate a special talent or ambition in the arts or creative skills. Packaging includes rare archival photos of New Order (by Kevin Cummins) plus one of the last images of Tony before he announced his illness (by Katja Ruge). Peter Hook also recorded a sonically enhanced spoken word dedication to Tony as an introduction to the record. The Digital Version of this release and the two additional collections will be available at iTunes, Emusic, Amazon, Rhapsody, and all other digital outlets to commemorate Tony Wilson's Birthday. The Double CD will also be available for purchase at http://www.newordertribute.com/ and on March 9th a CD Version will be available from MVD Distribution and various music retail outlets.
