BoxEight put a creative spin on Fashion Week by hosting several fashion installations that fused art, fashion, and photography while providing an insider's view of the creative process. Seven designers were chosen to create their own art installations in which their collection would be viewed in a unique artistic setting. The results were photographed and will be featured in the November issue of Flaunt.
The 3 day event kicked off with an awesome party hosted by Flaunt in celebration of the launch of their Eden issue featuring David LaChapelle’s work, which included a four page cover spread with Naomi Campbell. The fashionistas were decked out in their finest, the vodka was flowing, and the beats were fab. We were thrilled to run into Krys & Jack (Krys-N-Jack). These gals are true supporters of their fellow artists, and they are super cool as well. Krys looked super cute in a vintage flapper outfit, and Jack looked as cool as ever sporting one of their first tie designs. They make a great team both in and out of the showroom. We love them.
The other two nights focused on the actual installations themselves in which the designers worked with a crew to bring their 2010 lookbooks to life. Those in attendance got to view the process from start to finish from hair & make-up to lighting to the final shoots themselves. Featured designers included Project Runway alums Rami Kashou (shot by Garrett Suhrie), Jeffrey Sebelia (shot by Kurt Izwarienko) and Jerell Scott (shot by Peter Gurnz). Louis Verdad (shot by Don Flood), Corpus (shot by Patrick Hoelck), Skingraft (shot by Gitte Meldgaard), Michael Costello (shot by David C. Lee) and a few others also showcased their work.
