Artist Interview: Yvette LaForce
BM: Tell me a little about your art and what makes it so unique?
Y: I believe and, more importantly, have been told that the uniqueness of my art comes from my brush stroke, my use of vivid colors, and the way that I layer my paint. Most of my pieces have up to 15 layers of paint, which results in you being able to see through layers of colors and spots of color showing through in different areas of the canvas. Also, my subject matter, whether it is abstract or not, are always what is inspiring me at the moment. I have painted all different subjects and will continue to do so either in abstraction or reality.

Artist Profile – Trish Alaskey
Sometimes you find emerging talent in unlikely places. Case in point: Trish Alaskey. Trish is a sweet, down-to-earth individual who exhibits the spirit of an artist. I knew her for about a year before finding out she harbored the hidden talents of a painter. In fact, it wasn’t until she posted one of her paintings on Facebook that I found out just how talented she is.
BM: When did you start painting?
I always loved painting, ever since I was a little girl, but I really didn’t start concentrating on it until recently. It wasn’t until this past July that I started painting seriously with the intent to sell.
