Metropolitan Fashion Week 3rd Annual Closing Gala

Metropolitan Fashion Week held its annual closing Gala at Warner Bros Studio in Burbank, CA. The spectacular showcased 150 avant-garde costumes and couture gowns by local and international designers.

Avant-garde outfits made from papier-mâché, hand-painted silk gowns, and canvas themed dresses with icons including Marilyn Monroe were seen during the evening as well.

 

Featured costume designers included Kicka Custom Designs, Perry Meek, Ricardo Soltero, and Inoe Vargas.

The elaborate masks were created by artist Swig Miller.

Sophie Chang, Claire’s Collection (by Rita Mezrahi), Mireille Dagher, Julie Danforth, Diego Medel, Jaimie Sortino, OTT Dubai, Niveen Heaton (Adicora Swimwear), Charmaine J. Rodriguez, David Tupaz, and LASC were among the featured designers.

The fashion show also included a special presentation titled Fifty Shades of Pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month. The gowns were modeled by breast cancer survivors and were auctioned off at the end of the evening with proceeds benefiting various breast cancer charities.
