There’s a pretty cool company based in Oregon that we’re excited to tell you about – Looptworks. This eco-friendly organization rescues quality, unused material and turns it into limited edition, hand-numbered goods. Every product they make adheres to fair labor practices and comes with a “Loopt4Life” guarantee in order to ensure it doesn’t end up in a landfill and meets the company’s standard of being a quality product that can be trusted to last a lifetime.
Looptworks’ mission is to never create materials and only use ones that already exists. They achieve this by partnering up with other businesses so they can put their discarded textiles to good use. Their latest collaboration is with Southwest Airlines. In an effort to be more environmentally friendly Southwest decided to replace their leather seat covers with a lightweight material (lighter planes = less fuel and less pollution). Looptworks took the abandoned leather and used the shape of the airline seats as inspiration for their “Luv” seat line – a collection of high quality, duffle bags, totes, and backpacks.
The retro inspired collection will be available on October 30th. To get yours visit: www.looptworks.com/luv And, while you’re there be sure to check out their other cool upcycled bags and accessories. – NIN
