The Gallery LA held an open house to discuss the upcoming events for the Fall/Winter 2012 LA Fashion Weekend shows to be held at Sunset Gower Studios March 16th – 18th. Coverage of the star-studded event will also be broadcasted live by KTLA 5.
The Gallery LA is a full service marketing and event production company with Mikey Koffman at the helm. It is the driving force behind L.A. Fashion Weekend, which produces some of the most exciting runway shows during L.A. Fashion Week. Internationally renowned and up-and-coming designers are already being lined up for the glamorous multi-day event.
A number of people attended the open house including Erin Farrell from Public Counsel. Public Counsel is the largest pro bono law office in the nation and they work with major law firms to provide free legal services to low-income children, youth, adults, families, and eligible community organizations. Last October they were the benefactor of LA Fashion Weekend’s charity fashion show featuring Betsey Johnson. Mikey is big on giving back to the community, so there is at least one charity fashion show during LAFW.
I also met Krista Barnes from The Reel Project – an organization that assists refugees, internally displaced persons, and survivors in areas of Africa and the developing world through art, technology, information, and opportunity. Perhaps there will be a collaboration with Mikey in the future.
On the way out I ran into Phoebe Rose and her lovely guardian Sheila Appleby Williams. Phoebe is an adorable, fashionable little pug and she is also a celebrity blogger.
