We were immediately drawn to the exquisite jewelry on display by Bijou Tresor. They informed us that they would be accessorizing the models for the upcoming runway shows. Clarisonic demonstrated their skincare system, which helps eliminate acne, dry skin patches, and fine lines; thus, producing younger, healthier looking skin. (I’m all for that.) Napoleon Perdis treated guests to complimentary make-overs and samples of their products. Siara and I agreed that the fancy lashes were not only pretty but fun. The folks at VocéHaircare were handing out samples of their leave in detangler. After two uses I am a fan. Plus, their hair care products smell great because they are infused with refreshing fragrances.
The Style Fashion Week shows took place at the former Cathedral of St. Vibiana. The Cathedral is beautiful and the courtyard is the perfect place to hold a pre-event party. The sponsors from the VIP party were on site, in addition to a few others. One of which was Shibue Couture. The company makes a strapless G String that is perfect for wearing under form fitting dresses because it doesn’t leave any panty lines. It adheres to your skin via a medical-grade adhesive. It’s hand washable and lasts for up to 20 uses. Alejandra G was also there to showcase the latest, unique styles from her luxurious shoe collection. These shoes are hot and will definitely draw attention.
VnC Cocktails treated us to their pre-mixed cocktails that are ready to serve straight from the bottle and contain 14% alcohol. They come in a variety of flavors including Mojito, Strawberry Daiquiri, Banana Daiquiri, and, Margarita (to name a few). Two Birds Baking Co had a variety of their vegan cupcakes out for sampling. These tasty treats are dairy and egg free and are quite delicious. They also make cookies and offer free delivery in the Los Angeles and Orange County areas.
The first presentation of the evening was by Nicolita, and it was titled “Con Sabor Tropical!” Designer Nicole Di Nicolita draws inspiration from Cuba’s alluring 1940’S era by blending vintage glamour with modern day silhouettes. Her swimwear is known for its “Cuban-style” bottoms that are designed for the curvaceous Latina figure. Styles ranged from sexy one-pieces to retro 40’s styles. The festive looks featured twisted bandeau tops and others were accentuated with ruffles. Shoes and accessories were provided by ChineseLaundry.
After a brief intermission it was time for another show. Next on the list was Kareena’s – a high end clothing line that specializes in tunics, kaftans, shawls, and scarves made from striking silks and cottons. Each piece is either adorned with hand embroidery or hand embellished with semi-precious gem stones, sequins, beads, and crystals. Kareena draws inspiration from exotic locations, which was reflected in the striking silks and cottons used to create the colorful pieces that graced the runway. The tunics were pretty enough to wear out for a night of dancing.
