Rent The Runway: A Girl's Best Friend

Next to diamonds Rent The Runway might just be a girl’s best friend. We all face the dilemma of having nothing to wear for a special occasion and, in most cases, something new and fabulous is not in the budget. However, thanks to Rent The Runway it is now possible to look stunning without having to break the bank.

I had the pleasure of meeting one of the company’s co-founders, Jenn Hyman, at a recent event held at Public Kitchen in the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. Jenn filled me and my fellow Two Point Oh! LA bloggers in on all the perks of being a Rent The Runway member. She also told us about some new projects that are in the works. Such as, if ten or more girls go to the same event together and they all rent their dresses from RTR the company will send a professional photographer out to take pictures in order to document the special occasion. You’ll also be able to use the photo as your FB profile pic. They also might be doing something with Two Point Oh! LA, so if you’re a fashion blogger and you’re not yet a member of this network you may want to sign up soon.

The great thing about Rent The Runway is that you can rent a designer dress for as little as $40 and accessories for $10. You also have access to a personal stylist that will help you coordinate your look. There was a marvelous Hervé Léger Tribal Bandage dress on display that I fell in love with. You can rent it for $200 as opposed to paying $1,995 for retail. Can you imagine wearing Hervé Léger or Thakoon for an evening? Rent The Runway has an inventory of over 20,000 designer dresses in the latest styles, so finding the perfect dress for a special occasion will not be a problem. Plus, you won’t have to drive all around town either.  You don’t have to worry about trying it on because with your rental fee you can choose a backup size just in case and add an additional style for $25. Returns are free, and they also take care of the dry cleaning. In my opinion, it’s a win, win situation. The folks at RTR were kind enough to give us a $50 gift certificate for the site. Hmmmm…do I rent the Hervé Léger or the Christian Siriano?
