Genus and the Species – LAS Trunk Show

EM and Co hosted a trunk show featuring new pieces by LAS. The latest collection was inspired by organic environments ranging from the forest, the field, the desert, and the garden. LAS Jewelry is designed by the LA based husband and wife team of Daniel and Lisa Soltis. Dan is a sculptor and Lisa is a painter/print-maker. Together they create a variety of avant-garde necklaces, pendants, cuffs, and rings. I’m sure you’ve seen Russell Brand sporting a few.
Their unique and one-of-a-kind pieces are made from recycled metal and repurposed leathers and antique materials. The result is edgy rock meets vintage glamour. If you’re channeling your rocker side you can choose from a variety of unisex rings and pendant necklaces that feature wolf heads, crow skulls, and rabbit skulls. If you really want to make a statement then check out the Longhorn skull ring. I think Al Jourgensen needs one of these.

If you’re looking for something softer the bib necklaces, broaches, and cuffs made out of vintage materials and repurposed leathers will do. These pieces center around floral motifs and incorporate everything from bows to chains to pearls. Some are even adorned with the animal skull sculptures in case you want to avoid being too girly. If you want a really unique piece pick up the Mother of Pearls collar. It’s not something you see every day. In fact, each piece is handmade so no two items are alike and, believe it or not, the prices are quite reasonable.
