NIK’S SHOW ORGY

Going to shows now-a-days isn’t what it used to be – high gas prices, annoying traffic, and outrageous parking prices. However, some gigs are worth the hassle like the Jamie Jo record release party at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

You wouldn’t have known we were in the middle of a financial & economic crisis at this swank party. The drinks were flowing, the appetizers kept coming, and the stars as well as Hollywood’s elite were decked out in their finest.

Looking equally as glamorous Jamie Jo hit the stage and performed a few tracks off her upcoming self release debut In Violet (Oden Media). The electro power pop artist delighted fans with her pulsating beats and sultry rhythms. The highlight of the night was her performance with Barry Gibb (Bee Gees) for “U Turn Me On”.

Jamie Jo also has a line of candles, jewelry, and jeans in the works. Proceeds from these sales will go to various charities and organizations. For more on Jamie Jo visit http://www.jamiejo.com/

The Pigeon Detectives brought us back to reality with their stunning performance at Spaceland. The garage rock revivalists from England have a sound that is a cross between Blur and the Libertines. These guys put on an exhilarating live show and frontman Matt Bowman has some crazy energy on stage. Be sure to check out the http://www.pigeondetectives.com/.com to find out more about these guys.

While we are on the topic of great music be sure to go to www.myspace.com/killprocess and check out what this killer band has to offer. If you’re a fan of industrial rock you’ll LOVE this revolutionary unit. I’ve known these fine musicians for a number of years and have always been a fan of their various projects. C.J. & Dave are truly dedicated to their art and with each project their sound gets better and better. Support the indie music scene and visit Kill Process’ site. Show these boys some love, add them to your friend list, and buy their music. -NIN
