Style Fashion Week FW13

Style Fashion Week has made its permanent home at the charming Vibiana Cathedral. The courtyard was transformed into an upscale VIP lounge in honor of the week-long event.  The Croker Club provided an elaborate bar set up. Drinks were courtesy of Diablo Soda, Naked Juice, Peroni, and Moët Chandon. Manna Kadar cosmetics offered complimentary make-overs, and Runway TV was on site to interview guests.

As expected, everyone was dressed to impress.

Designer/stylist Remi looked smashing in one of his creations.

Stylist/model Melanie Moreno is always looks great as did our fashionable blogger/stylist friend Jason Guerrero.

The designer suites highlighted local talent including Sara Horne. I had met Sara last October and was happy to see her again at Style Fashion Week. Sara filled me in on all the new and exciting things that were happening with her line and showed me the latest additions to her jewelry collection. Sara has great energy, so I’m not surprised that good things are manifesting for her.

The representatives from Bloom Showroom had a nice display set up that showcased some of their featured designers. Bloom’s goal is to help emerging designers flourish and thrive in the fashion world by handling all aspects of the business and generating a buzz throughout the industry.

Meghna Designs is an affordable luxury jewelry line that fuses eastern and western inspired culture. The bold, exotic pieces are infused with vibrant colors and are crafted by fine artisans in India.

Lila Clare Jewelry is handmade by Clare Johnston. Her sterling silver pieces are designed to interpret nature in graceful and elegant forms.

Founded by Wendy McMonigle, WM Design House features a collection of multi-functional handbags made of luxurious leathers, wools, and hand crafted Italian hardware. These bags are not only fashionable but functional.

Jolica Taguiped designs three different jewelry lines for her Something Charming collection: Lava, Nautilus, and Mahjong. The Nautilus line begins with hand-hammered sterling silver before shell, gemstone, or coral are added to give each piece a distinct look. The Mahjong line starts with a treasure hunt to locate the old bone and bamboo tiles used in the ancient Chinese game and the Lava line was influenced by the Lava flows of the Big Island of Hawaii.

Fascinated by the native plants in California, designer Linda DaPra channels their diversity to create her Casalinda Studio designs.

Designer Pam Fisher had a great idea in the form of Smart Scarf. Made from faux fur, the scarf comes in a variety of colors and prints and comes with attached hand muffs and a hood. It also has a velvet interior lining with pockets so you can store your keys, money, phone, lipstick, glasses, etc…and not have to worry about losing them. You can also purchase a scarf without the hood and wear it as a fashion accessory. Pam also has a variety of faux fur purse covers, which allow you to match your bag with your outfit without having to change purses.

In addition to their runway show on Wednesday, ASH Couture had a variety of colorful, sparkly bracelets for sale.

Mexican fashion designer Gregorio Sanchez kicked off Style Fashion Week with the debut of his RG Sanchez Line. Gregorio has 15 years design experience and it is reflected in his impeccable style and eye-catching fashion forward ensembles. He also designs leather shoes and bags, which we got a glimpse of on the runway.

The RG Sanchez collection combined gorgeous practical pieces with sexy, feminine evening ensembles that exuded glamour and sex appeal. There were a variety of bold, strong looks that would appeal to an array of women from the dramatic pantsuits to the glamorous gowns to the beautiful dusters to the red feather cocktail dress.

Beso Moda designer Claudia Gonzalez Pruitt unveiled the brand’s latest ready to wear collection – Rhapsody.

Claudia presented an assortment of hand-crafted floor and cocktail length dresses made from a vast array of rich fabrics and featured lace, sequins, rich fabrics, chiffon, and silk. Some were embellished with semi-precious stones and others with feathers.
