The other day I had the pleasure of visiting Elle’s beautiful office for a sneak peek at the latest offerings from some of their clientele. I was impressed to find that this ultra hip PR/marketing firm represents a wide spectrum spanning from Travel (Classic Journeys) to healthy Pet Food (TheHonest Kitchen) to Trade Shows (MAGIC) to restaurants (Smashburger) to Fashion.
When I walked in I immediately noticed the upcycled eco-friendly jewelry from Raven + Lilly. Founded by Kirsten Dickerson and Sophia Lin, Raven + Lilly is an eco and socially responsible lifestyle brand dedicated to empowering women through design partnerships and sustainable economic opportunities. All their products (which also include journals, note cards, and bath sets) are handcrafted by women in developing nations. Proceeds from the sale of R+L’s line are returned to the communities to fund education, healthcare, and micro-loans.
On March 8th Raven + Lilly will honor International Women’s Day with a 20% discount off their entire online collection. Enter the code: women2012 at checkout. This gorgeous cuff will be the first item in my cart.
I enjoyed browsing through the racks of clothing sold by Future:Standard. Founder Jessica Altoff ensures that all her merchandise is chic, stylish, eco-friendly, locally made, produced with respect to the planet, and meets fair trade standards. The rock ‘n’ roll tees designed by established musicians for MusiCares were also quite cool. Proceeds from t-shirt sales go to benefit the MusiCares Foundation.
Upstairs in the loft I spotted Leoluca’s colorful spring line, which was embellished with gold studs for an edgy effect. Leoluca handbags are made with love in the USA by two talented gals from San Diego. For more info on the line check out our feature with Lauren Letizio and Emma Lezak here.
While talking to one of the guests I came to find that she (WhitneyLader) makes blinged out cases under the Libras Lines, and she’ll be happy to customize one for you. Just send her an e-mail at whitney@hooplablog.com
Attendees of the showcase were treated to a DIY Nail Bar, complimentary braiding courtesy of Traci Henningsen, snacks, and a gift bag filled with various goodies like a dried fruit medley from Peeled Snacks, BlinkEnergy Water, and make-up from Milani. Natalie James of Fashion Intel was kind enough to make her Rosemary Diamond Fizz for us. Comprised of champagne, gin, and her signature Rosemary syrup it was a tasty and refreshing cocktail.
Kristen of GlitterNGlue provided the materials so we could create fashionable necklaces out of bobby pins, and the lovely Elle staff took animated photos of the stylish guests in the Oh! Snap photo booth lounge.
