Koolaburra – Boho Chic Footwear

I’ve been to New Orleans often enough that I am now known as the girl who walks around the French Quarter in sky high heels. Yep, that’s me. New Orleans, New York, Los Angeles…home or traveling I never leave the house without my heels (preferably 5 inches or higher).

Even though I have enough shoes to fill a small boutique only a select few are designated as walking shoes. (However, they all are worn for one occasion or another.) How do heels qualify as walking shoes for travel? Well, comfort, of course. They don’t cut into my feet or rub against the back of my ankles, and they are versatile enough to go with a variety of outfits.

When Koolaburra asked me to try out a pair of their shoes I had to make sure there were heels in the collection. (They do – edgy wedges and modernized clogs.) The site also mentioned that their footwear is comfortable, so I decided to take them up on their offer.

I debated between the wedge and the clog and in the end decided the Becks (a zip-back peep toe lace-up bootie with perforated leather detail) were more suited to my style.

Koolaburra, made its mark internationally with its boho chic line of boots. The brand has since transitioned into making platform wedges, clogs, stilettos, and sandals. Offering a little something for everyone, their stylish footwear has become a go to staple among A-list celebrities. (Sarah Jessica Parker, Kate Hudson, and Jessica Alba, to name a few.) The California based company draws inspiration from a love of music and fashion (Just like us!). Each season is inspired by a soundtrack of contemporary and classic songs. The styles are limited in order to maintain a focus on detail and quality. Koolaburra places a big emphasis on quality. So much so, that they even offer a warranty on their shoes. Heck, my Louboutins didn’t come with a warranty.

I paired my Becks with various outfits and wore them for different activities.
                                                     A day at work.

                                                    Shopping on a Saturday.

                                                    At the dog park.

                                                   Out for drinks with friends.

Were they comfortable? Absolutely! For a wedge, the Becks were surprisingly light. They hardly made a sound when I walked and it felt like I was walking on air. They also passed the test for function and style, as I was able to pair them with a variety of different outfits. You can bet I’ll be packing my Koolaburras for my next trip.
