Two Point Oh La! Royal Picnic

One of the perks of being a Two Point Oh La! member is the annual picnic. The Royal Picnic was this year’s theme in honor of the Queen’s jubilee, (TPOLA founder Kelsi Smith is British) and High Tea was on at noon. The picnic table was loaded with goodies ranging from tea sandwiches, scones, tea cakes, and candy and we washed it all down with Diet Pepsi.

The TPOLA annual picnic gives members the opportunity to network with other bloggers in the fashion/beauty/style community. It’s also a great way for brands to get more exposure.

Members and potential members were treated to a gift bag that contained Green Tea Moisturizer from ProactivTarte Cosmetics cheek stain, a necklace or a bracelet from Crossroads Trading, a Michael Stars tank top, and the famous Neiman Marcus Chocolate Chip cookies!

The lovely gals from Hairroin Salon were kind enough to offer complimentary braiding, which provided those with long hair a little relief from the heat. They also handed out samples of strengthening and repair shampoo/conditioner from Sebastian Professional. You’ll be happy to know that Hairroin hosts Foxy Fridays, which features a $35 blow dry bar and complimentary champagne. Appointments are required so don’t forget to book yours ahead of time.

During the month of August Hairroin will be hosting a traveling salon at Urban Outfitters. There will be an opening reception each Thursday (7 p.m. – 10 p.m.)and salon services will include half off cuts, extensions, braids, styles, blowouts, tooth jewels, and men’s grooming. Daily braid and style classes will be held. Guests will also receive free Hairroin tattoos by Pat Kim and will enjoy live music and sweets and refreshments from Tender Greens. Schedule is as follows:

8/2 – 8/5 Urban Outfitter Santa Monica
8/9 – 8/12 Urban Outfitter Studio City

8/16 – 8/19 Urban Outfitter Pasadena

The folks from Guess Watches were on site to show us the latest collection of time pieces and fill us in about their One To Watch Global Blogger Search.  If you’re a blogger you’ll be interested in knowing that Guess Watches has launched a global search in an effort to find a fashion inspired blogger to become the official voice for Guess Access. I’m not sure about you but for me finding a pair of glasses or sunglasses that fit and flatter my face is a chore. However, DITTO has made it a whole lot easier to shop for eyewear and you can even do it online!  DITTO is a revolutionary ecommerce site that sells a curated collection of designer eyewear. The company uses a patent-pending technology that lets customers create a “Ditto,” which is a 3D virtual version of themselves, using video footage from their webcam. Once the “Ditto” is complete you can use it to virtually try on glasses (in 180 degree views) to see if they fit and look good before making a purchase. You can also share your ditto with your friends and get their feedback or use it to get personalized recommendations from a DITTO stylist. It’s a great concept. Check it out and have fun browsing through the vast selection of styles.

Sole Society had some of their latest styles on display from edgy wedges to fancy flats. Sole Society is a member’s only club that offers a personalized shopping experience. The company recently added a new feature where they send you an e-mail showcasing a new shoe a day, (all shoes are $49.95) and you no longer need to take action before the 6th of the month. So what are you waiting for – sign up!

It may have been hot but the heat didn’t stop us from having a good time. Many thanks to Kelsi, the TPOLA Bloggers who volunteered their time, and to all the sponsors for putting together a fashionably fun picnic. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for next year.
