Ne-Yo - Libra Scale and The 2010 Annual Giving Tour

The invite said “Cocktail attire required.” You gotta love that. It’s not often we get a chance to dress to the nines. The event, which was hosted by Compound Entertainment, served two purposes: To provide an opportunity to preview Ne-Yo’s new album Libra Scale and to raise awareness for The Compound Foundation.

Held at Bardot Hollywood this was one classy event. Not only was the venue beautiful, but the guests were gorgeous too. We listened to Ne-Yo’s smooth R&B tunes while sipping on Ty-Ku premium sake. Turns out Libra Scale was the perfect soundtrack for the evening – it’s a sophisticated collection that pays homage to Michael Jackson. The album contains Ne-Yo’s signature fluid melodies but also takes an adventurous turn with tracks like the club-goovin’ “Beautiful Monster”.

About halfway through Ne-Yo showed up looking sharp. He has great fashion sense and really knows how to work it. He mingled with the guests and announced that he would be embarking on the Compound Foundation’s 2010 Annual Giving Tour. The Compound Foundation, which was founded in 2007 by Ne-Yo and his manager Tango Hay, supports and creates opportunities for youth in the child welfare system. The goal of the tour is to bring holiday cheer, toys, clothes, and books to 3,000 foster youths between the ages of 3 – 18.

All in all, it was a good night. We heard some great music, met some cool people, had some yummy food and drink, and even got a gift bag with treats from How Charming and Carol’s Daughter.

Be sure to catch Ne-Yo on the 2010 Annual Giving Tour:

Dec 17 Los Angeles

Dec 18 Las Vegas

Dec 19 New York

Dec 20 Atlanta

And be sure to pick up (or download) a copy of Libra Scale.
