Fashion Business Inc.’s 5th Annual Fashion Show

Fashion Business, Inc. held its 5th Annual runway show at the historic Union Station in Downtown, L.A. The non-profit organization provides the fashion industry with entrepreneurial development, resources, and training to support its growth and profitability by offering targeted business education, sourcing, networking opportunities, marketing, and consulting services. If you’re in the fashion business the best investment you can make is to join F.B.I.

The All Aboard fundraiser provided eight brands with the opportunity to showcase their latest designs. The sold out event began with a networking cocktail reception hosted by Tito’s Handmade Vodka and Martini and Rossi.

Guests also had the opportunity to purchase handcrafted jewelry by Charlie’s Creations and Tigre Sheets.

The fashion show, which featured collections from emerging and established designers, was hosted by KABC news co-anchor David Ono and actress Erica Ash (Survivor’s Remorse and Real Husbands of Hollywood). David introduced F.B.I.’s founder Frances Harder, who told us more about her wonderful organization and how much it does for the fashion community.

This was followed by the presentation of F.B.I.’s Emerging Designer of the Year Award, which went to Ayumi Shibata, designer for éis

MK Collab was next on the list. The company offers fashion lovers a unique entrepreneurial platform by providing them with their own eBoutique web-site. MK Collab handles all the business aspects and you (as an MK Stylist) direct fellow fashionistas to your eBoutique via social media. Of course the models were MK Stylist, some of which I had complimented on their outfits before the show.

Soverra, designed by Minnie Ty, was the next presentation on the catwalk.

Odina sent out a fun collection of highly-functional and fashionable swimwear.

Vene AI delivered a beautiful collection of bridal and evening-wear

There was a brief intermission featuring a dance performance by Mayadance.

The showcase then continued with Plush Cashmere.

Followed by Chyangra Pashmina.

The evening ended with the presentation of the Moss Adams Fashion Innovator Award (M.A.F.I.A.), which went to Denise Focil, designer for AS by DF. Martin Hughes (Moss Adams’ partner and apparel practices leader) noted that Focil was clearly deserving of the award due to her innovation in design and passion for her work.
