Costume Designers Week: Hollywood


Metropolitan Fashion Week has announced the launch of the first ever Costume Designers Week Hollywood, which will celebrate the world of costume designers in motion pictures, television, theater, and opera during a week of dramatic fashion/pageant shows. The launch will begin with a press conference and sneak preview of national and international costume designers’ creations entitled, Metamorphosis. The event will feature the latest works of Sean Puruker, Amanda Holser, Swig Miller, Kicka Custom Design, Rocky Gathercole Atelier, Marzia Paparini, Fabio Giampietro, in addition to a special presentation by Myth Mask. The kick-off celebrations will continue with the Joe Blasco Makeup Metamorphosis Project. Attendees can choose to participate as a model and be transformed into a work of art, become a make-up artist for the night, or simply just observe. This fun event will take place on Thursday, May 16th (6:30 p.m.) at the Joe Blasco Make-Up Artist Training Center located at 1670 Hillhurst Ave. RSVP to: Info@Metropolitanfashionweek.net   

The Costume Designers Gala Show will take place on October 24th and will include over 150 works of art created by national and international costume designers. There will also be a special tribute to Bond Girls presented by ADICORA Swimwear, a presentation of the Costume Designers Life Achievement Award, and a special live performance.
