LA Fashion Council's Fashion Week Debut

The Los Angeles Fashion Council made its L.A. Fashion Week debut at the historic Carondelet House. The two day event included runway presentations, onsite showrooms for apparel and accessories, a daily luncheon, and an evening “Digital Influencer” cocktail party held in association with Two Point Oh LA! Featured designers included AGAIN, Korovilas, The Bohemian Society, Jen Awad, ISM Mode, Odylyne, Kittinhawk, Luciana Salamone, and Luxury Jones.

Styled after an Italian Villa the Carondelet house is a beautiful location for hosting an event. Three different showrooms featured apparel and accessories by various local artists. In the library and den clothing by AGAIN, Odylyne, Luciana Salamone, and Luxury Jones were on display.

Here’s one of the lovely gals from AGAIN in one of their fun designs.

Kittinhawk’s edgy geomorphic jewelry was also featured. Designer Allysun Maria Dutra also makes gothic inspired apparel.

While exploring all the neat rooms in the house I came across another room where I discovered more accessories. The first thing that caught my eye was the colorful bags and belts from Pop Molly, which were made from recycled rubber and plastic.

I loved the unique pieces from Gilda Grey - some of which even glow in the dark.

Shallow Fashion’s jewelry was also distinct – made from rocks, stones, and hammered metals.

There were also hats and headpieces by Bijou Van Ness

In between runway shows and installations the fashionable guests enjoyed cocktails courtesy of Chambord liquor.

About an hour after my arrival it was time for the next show to start. For the past couple of years I’ve heard my fellow Two Point Oh LA! Bloggers rave about Jen Awad. However, various circumstances have prevented me from catching any of her runway presentations, so I was excited to finally see one. The young designer’s creations often reflect her Peruvian and Egyptian decent. Her chic-elegant collection contained a mixture of modern and vintage with a bit of an edge. Some pieces were sexy while others were classic. Jen tends to favor bright colors so in addition to black bright blues and pinks were also present.

Bohemian Society was slated as the last show of the day. However, the presentation was running late and due to overlapping show schedules I had to move on to the next event.

Other engagements kept me from returning for day two, which concluded with an after party at the W Los Angeles and featured a trunk show/sample sale that served as a launch for the L.A. Fashion Council’s monthly pop up shop that will be held at the Living Room in the hotel on the second Thursday of every month from noon – 5 p.m.
