Kelsey Bennett Unveils East and West Coast Exhibitions

Acclaimed photographer and artist Kelsey Bennett will be showcasing her work for the first time in Los Angeles - one week after her fine arts debut in New York City. Kelsey and, conceptual artist, B. Thom Stevenson will reveal their collaborative body of work dubbed BOREGASM at New York City’s Fig.19 Gallery. Together the duo have created a thrilling collection of work that explores and celebrates the age and art of distraction. They achieved this by creating mind-bending collages with bright colors and wild visuals using 35mm photos (taken by Bennett) and layered with mixed media (courtesy of Stevenson) then mounted on aluminum.

According to the artists, “BOREGASM is a celebration of restless minds and serves as a refreshing reminder that a mere blank stare can produce something that is by far, anything but blank. ”BOREGASM will be open to the public from Friday, May 3rd until May 16th at the edgy downtown Fig.19 Gallery in the Lower East Side of New York City.

Immediately following BOREGASM, Kelsey will be venturing west to Los Angeles for her debut of the HONEYMOON PHASE. The exhibit, which will be held at the prestigious DRKRM Gallery, will showcase a retrospective of Bennett’s work from the past four shows and will also include never before seen pieces from BOREGASM and her new project HAGS. This exhibition will feature a spectrum of images of subjects, friends, and iconic artists such as Amy Winehouse, Lady Gaga, to name a few. HONEYMOON PHASE will be open to the public from May 12th to June 1st at DRKRM, which is located in the historic Chung King Road of contemporary art galleries in Downtown L.A.'s Chinatown. – NIN
