Quynh Paris SS2013 at Style Fashion Week

On Thursday I was back at Vibiana for another round of Style Fashion Week. For some reason all I could think about all day was a glass of champagne, so I was very happy when I arrived and saw that Moreno BHLV was one of the sponsors for the evening.

By day four the party was in full swing and there were some new vendors in the courtyard - one of which was Lina Zeineddine. Lina was born in Lebanon and her passion for fashion led her to enroll in courses at Art Institute in Seattle. It wasn’t long before she launched her shoe line. Lina’s footwear is flirty and fun. Her shoes are made in Italy and Brazil using genuine leather and feature a special rubber sole for extra comfort. Her collection is comprised of classic Mary Janes, riding boots, heels, wedges, and flats accented with cute bows.

Alexandra Outerbridge had her Emoticon inspired jewelry on display. Her Outerbridge pieces were fun and featured different emojicon faces. They gave a whole new meaning to mood rings. Her necklaces contained reversible charms – happy face on one side sad face on the other. The pieces come in silver, gold rose gold, and brass. Collect them all and change them out depending on your mood for the day.

There were a number of fashionably dressed individuals in the crowd but model Alyssa Cave (Metropolitan Fashion Week) really stood out. Turns out she was wearing an outfit by designer Gingerlyn Bellus, who is based in Seattle.

Designer Nguyen Quynh Nhu (Quynh Paris) splits her time between Paris, Lausanne, and Saigon. She grew up in a creative household filled with music, painting, and dance. Thus, her creations are inspired by the arts and her cultural surroundings. Her vibrant pieces ranged from haute couture to ready to wear. Some of the looks were dramatic and others exuded a playful energy.

A variety of looks graced the runway from chiffon harem pants, to billowy floor length gowns, to asymmetrical bustiers covered in metallic webbing.

Quynh often utilizes different textures, fabrics, and forms in the same garment thereby transforming an ordinary piece into a wearable work of art.
