The Radio Dept. - Passive Aggressive: Singles 2002-2010

(Labrador Sweden)  Go! - Get This Now
The Radio Dept.’s new album, Passive Aggressive, is comprised of 28 singles that were created over the years of 2002-2010. It’s a great thing that this album was put together for it has created two discs full of wonderfulness! This group has great talent that enables them to range from tracks that all sound different, but don’t leave you with a feeling that you might have accidentally hit repeat.
A good way to describe Passive Aggressive is Ratatat meets distortion with the sultry vocal style of Paul Banks from Interpol and a vocal harmony that can be compared to Ben Gibbard of Death Cab for Cutie/The Postal Service-but a little more manly. Some tracks that I highly suggest are “Ewan”, “David,” and “Messy Enough.” All titles allow you to relax, jam, and groove making it perfect for anyone to enjoy. However, if you find yourself worshiping the names dropped earlier and have not yet listened to The Radio Dept. your peers might hate you for burning through nothing but this band.
It might seem that 28 tracks is too much to listen to, but having had great success in the indie world means that it’s all the more for you to enjoy. Check them out at their website http://www.theradiodept.com/ where you’ll find plenty of goodies from free downloads to live videos. P.S. Another great thing about this group is their insistence on putting out LP’s.
